How to make a mini lathe with the drill for foam plastic cutting
Hello my dear friends! In today’s video I’m going to show you the third stage of making the floats. We are going to make a mini lathe with the drill to cut foam plastic and make a shape of the float.
Firstly, we need a piece of a plywood, I’ve stuck two wooden bricks beforehand, and we have got a kind of table. The drill should have the handle. If you haven’t got one, you may create any other bracing. A foam plastic piece we have been making in two previous videos, two types of emery paper – thin and thick, and two wooden bricks.
First of all, we have to make a bracing for the drill. Put the drill on the mini table, draw the line around it with the marker, make a hole for this bolt, and the bracing is ready. Also, pay attention to the drill upside down situation, it’s needed to avoid overheating of the drill, it has coolers on the sides and underneath. Then, we have to make a back stock for the lathe. We need a wooden brick and a little drill, with a bit bigger diameter than a skewer.
A mini lathe with the drill for foam plastic cutting is ready. Let’s test it. First, we have to polish a foam plastic piece with the thick emery paper, and then with the thin one.
That’s all. We have got such a float. The last stage is left, it is decoration. We will use a mini drill with a fixed-spool reel. So see you in the next video. Bye-bye!
